Brunson 10 – Doyles Room Pros
When DoylesRoom first launched, the site banked on the prestige and fame of its world famous namesake, Doyle Brunson. But while everyone in the poker world respects and admires Brunson for his legendary accomplishments, poker has increasingly become a young man’s game. This led to the creation of an all-new team of young professional players that could carry the DoylesRoom banner: the Brunson 10.

The idea behind the Brunson 10 was simple. Doyle Brunson would help to hand pick ten of the top players around the world who were still under 25, but had already accomplished a great deal in tournament poker and in cash games. These would be players who had already shown their talent, and had the potential to grow into legends, even if they weren’t the biggest names in poker quite yet.
Doyles Room started by recruiting three players in the summer of 2009: Alec Torelli, Amit Makhija, and Zach Clark. Later that year, they were joined by Chris Moorman and Dani Stern. Ultimately, Torelli would leave the group in early 2010.
But that didn’t stop DoylesRoom from finding more top young professionals to fill out the ranks of the Brunson 10. Additions in 2010 included Alex Kamberis, Steve Gross, Dan Kelly and David Sands, all of whom have helped bolster DoylesRoom and continue to show incredible success at the poker tables. The competition to join the Brunson 10 has been furious, as the “Become a Legend” leaderboard challenge – which promised a spot in the elite group – attracted many of the world’s top young pros, including both Kelly and Sands.
As a group, the Brunson 10 has a record of success that few other sites can hope to match. They’ve won Player of the Year awards, World Series of Poker bracelets, and have dominated televised poker programs like few others before them. Their success extends to online tournaments, where many of them have already won the biggest major online poker tournaments in the world, and to cash games, where they’ve raked in huge profits.
The Brunson 10 can be spotted at major poker tournaments wearing DoylesRoom gear and promoting the site, but they’re much more than just a promotional tool. The Brunson 10 are actively involved with improving the site, making suggestions on how to improve what has already become one of the leading poker rooms on the Internet.
You can also catch the Brunson 10 in action on DoylesRoom. Even better, by playing at DoylesRoom, you’ll get the chance to take on these great young pros and see if you have what it takes to stand up to some of poker’s future legends. A weekly “Beat The Brunson 10” tournament features a $500 bounty for every Brunson 10 member you can knock out of the tournament, making seeing one of the young guns at your table a lucrative situation – if you can knock them out.
As of October 2010, the Brunson 10 only has eight members in total, meaning there are still two spots open for new pros to join this elite group. And it’s certain that in the years to come, the members of the DoylesRoom team will change. But no matter how many players are on the team, and no matter who they are, one thing is for certain: The Brunson 10 will always feature some of the world’s best young poker talent, and it should prove to be the launching pad for many of poker’s future legends.
