Chris Moorman Bio
In their description of Chris Moorman on the Brunson 10 section of their site, DoylesRoom describes Moorman as being “to the online poker world what Doyle Brunson was to live poker decades ago.” While that might be considered hyperbole to most, there’s no doubt that Chris Moorman has been one of the most successful young online poker players in the world.

Moorman was born in Brighton, England, and first got into poker while attending the University of Essex. Starting out with online freerolls, Moorman eventually won $70 and began to build a bankroll by playing microstakes cash games. After slowly working his way up to medium stakes games, Moorman turned his attention back to tournament poker.
It was a great decision for the young pro, as he has since earned over $5 million in online tournament play. Moorman was the 2009 Yearly Leaderboard winner at PocketFives.com, and has won numerous major online events, including events on Absolute Poker, Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars. He hasn’t quite replicated this tournament success in live play – in fact, he once staked his father in a tournament, which his father won, surpassing his son’s live tournament winnings in one fell swoop – but he has cashed in seven different World Series of Poker events in the last three years.
Moorman has had another great year in 2010; as of October 2010, he stands in 4th place on Bluff Magazine’s Online Player of the Year rankings. Over the last three years, Moorman has scored four online cashes of over $100,000, including a $204,000 second place finish in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series back in August of 2009. Moorman is also one of the most active online tournament players in the world, playing – and cashing – in online tournaments on nearly a daily basis. His aggressive style keeps opponents off balance and makes him the one player nobody wants to see at their online table.
But Moorman has made waves not just for his immense talent and great results, but also for the way he goes about his business. In both live and online play, Moorman has shown an impressive ability to control his emotions and remain a good-mannered ambassador for the game, during both good times and bad.
It didn’t take long for DoylesRoom to notice the incredible results being put up by Moorman, and they scooped him up for the Brunson 10 late in 2009. His results haven’t disappointed them since, as he’s arguably been the most successful member of the group when it comes to online play.
Besides poker, Moorman was also an accomplished bridge player as a teenager, showing that card games have always been in his blood. During his time in university, he led his team to the National University Pool Championships, an experience he described as “absolutely amazing.”
But, of course, nothing compares to Moorman’s victories in the realm of online poker, which are nearly unmatched. Many people believe “Moorman1” is the world’s best online poker player, making him one of the biggest acquisitions for DoylesRoom’s Brunson 10.
