Clark began his gambling career in an interesting way: by running what he refers to as “a little casino” out of his home while growing up in California to make a little extra pocket money. But at the same time, Clark was known as a jock who was quickly becoming an accomplished athlete.

According to an interview at DoylesRoom, Clark was a fine multisport athlete, even winning the 2003 Contra Costa Times Athlete of the Year award ahead of accomplished athletes like Maurice Drew and Kyle Wright. But a knee injury ended his athletic dreams and turned his attention to poker, and he has never looked back.

Given the fact the he was the nephew of one of the most successful poker players of all time, it surprised nobody in Clark’s family when he made the decision to turn to poker full time. But nobody could have predicted just how successful Clark would prove to be. Known by his screen name of CrazyZachary, Clark has dominated the online poker world ever since starting to play at the age of 18. According to Clark, he’s never had a “real” job; poker has been his only profession, and one that has treated him quite well so far.

After several major online poker victories in 2007, Clark made his presence known to the poker world by reaching the final table at the WPT Legends of Poker tournament. He played his way to the final table of this prestigious event, eventually finishing 3rd and taking home $281,645. The tournament was ultimately won by Amit Makhija, who is also a member of the Brunson 10.

Since 2007, Clark has been one of the most consistent young performers on the American poker scene, cashing in numerous major events in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. His biggest successes have come at the World Series of Poker, where he has already cashed 11 times in his first four visits. In total, Clark has made over $500,000 in live tournament cashes.

But Clark’s biggest successes have come online. According to Doyles Room, Clark’s career earnings are over $3 million in total, most of which has come from winning major online poker tournaments. The win that launched him into the online spotlight was his victory in the August 2007 Full Tilt Online Poker Series Main Event, where Clark outlasted a field of 4,578 players to win over $395,000.

That victory remains Clark’s biggest ever win, but it is far from his only online accomplishment. A few months earlier, Clark had already finished second in a major PokerStars event, winning $393,000 as the runner-up. Clark has three other cashes of over $50,000 in online tournament play, and has won well over a dozen major online tournaments.

With a solid poker lineage and no signs of slowing down, Zach “CrazyZachary” Clark looks likely to be a force in the poker world for many years to come. As one of the original Brunson 10 members, Clark has shown the level of success the public should expect from this elite group of young poker pros.
